“Afternoon Tea” For Senior Citizens And Past Parents

2010-03-19 / Community

When was the last time a high school student served you a cup of tea, or a finger sandwich, or a handmade scone? Senior citizens and past parents of Garden City Public School students, please join us in the Garden City High School Cafeteria for an “Afternoon Tea” on Thursday, April 29, 2010 from 3:30 - 5 p.m. to enjoy musical performances by elementary, middle and high school groups, a light meal served by high school students, and view art work from around the district. Many sponsors have joined together to bring this event to our community, including the Garden City Hotel, Riesterer’s Bakery, Garden City High School, the district’s food service department, district and building PTAs, the Music and Fine Arts Department, and the high school’s Family and Consumer Science classes.

Tickets are required for this event. The tickets are free, but limited to 2 per registrant and only available for in-person, first-come, first-served pick up on Wednesday and Thursday, April 7th and 8th from 4 - 6 p.m. at the Administration Building, 56 Cathedral Avenue. Registrants will be asked to show proof of Garden City residency. Group tables (8 per table) can be seated together by advance request at time of registration. No phone or advance ticket reservations, please. Any remaining tickets will be available at the Administration Building, 1 - 3 p.m., until sold out.
