POLICE REPORT: MISCHIEF AND MAYHEM

ON MARCH 7, UNKNOWN persons smashed an outdoor driveway lamp valued at $475... ON MARCH 5, PO Oswald stopped a 40-year-old Hempstead man for alleged aggravated DWI (.19%) on Meadow Street. He was also charged with aggravated unlicensed operation 1st degree (felony) for having a suspended license for a past DWI violation, and charged with fail to signal turn, unsafe lane change, uninsured and no seatbelt worn... ON MARCH 6, PO Oswald stopped a 24-year-old male from Hempstead on Meadow Street for allegedly going the wrong way on Meadow Place. He was arrested for aggravated DWI (.22% BAC), aggravated unlicensed operation, wrong way on a one way street, failing to stop for a stop sign and failing to signal turn. On March 4, detectives arrested a 19-year-old male from Franklin Square and an 18-year-old male from East Meadow for a February 25 grand larceny at Sears. They allegedly stole over $1,000 in assorted electronic merchandise... ON MARCH 7, PO Walsh arrested a 40-year-old male from Freeport for allegedly stealing over $200 in over the counter medicines at CVS... ON MARCH 1, SOMEONE stole a laptop from a room at Adelphi University’s Weinberg Hall. Value was $999... ALSO ON MARCH 1, someone entered an unlocked car on First Street during the overnight hours and allegedly stole an EZ Pass and a Sony PSP. Value was $225...

FIRE REPONSES:

ON MARCH 3, a fire occurred in the engine of a bus traveling along Franklin Avenue. All passengers were evacuated and the fire was contained... FD Rescued A Child locked in a bathroom at a Tullamore Road house on March 5... AN ALARM WENT OFF because of insecticide bomb being used in a restaurant on Franklin Avenue on March 6... LIPA WAS NOTIFIED because of wires down at a NHP Road house on March 8. A passing truck had evidently hit the wires there..Also On March 8, a carbon monoxide detector sounded at a Third Street residence but nothing was found...
