Joseph M. Gergela III, Executive Director of L.I. Farm Bureau, Muriel Urban, Community Club Past President and Garden Department chairlady. The Garden Department of the Community Club of Garden City and Hempstead does not rest its laurels. Beginning the year in February they had Joseph M. Gergela III, the Executive Director of the Long Island Farm Bureau, speak to the members and guests on the topic of what happened to all the farms that were on Long Island and where most of them went and why. It was a fascinating and informative lecture and was enjoyed by all, as were the home baked refreshments that were offered during the Tea Hour.

Now it is presenting on Thursday, March 25th, just in time for the Easter holidays, a program by its chairlady Muriel Urban at 1:30 p;.m. at the Garden City Casino. She will make five lovely fresh flower arrangements with a spring and Easter theme. Explanations on how these arrangements are made will be part of the program and chances will be sold so that five lucky ladies will be taking home an arrangement for their holiday tables. Muriel will be happy to give you further instructions during the Tea Hour so do come and bring a friend to enjoy it with you.

The Community Club offers a wide variety of quality programs, trips and creative classes from October through early June.

For information about membership in the Community Club, call the club office from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday at 746-0488.
