Hempstead Town Councilman Edward Ambrosino (right) congratulates students who participated in the Valentines for Vets program at Homestead School in Garden City. Through this program, which the Town instituted in 2001, students create valentines to send to veterans at local VA hospitals. Many of these men and women don’t have families and it means a lot to them to know that the young children appreciate the sacrifices they made for our nation.
