Community Club’s March Invitation

March always holds the promise of Spring, and good things to come. The Community Club of Garden City and Hempstead holds the same promise of good things for its members through the many programs and trips it sponsors. Here is what March has to offer.
On March 3rd
General Program will present William Bradley, amateur astronomer and member of the Board of Directors for the Amateur Observers Society of New York. He will explore celestial highlights.
March 4th
the Club is off to Lincoln Center and the New York Philharmonic. The featured works are Brahms Piano #1, and Hindesmith’s Symphony in E Flat. Ricardo Muti will be conducting.
Dan Christoffel
will give a lecture and slide presentation on Norman Rockwell – Painter of Americana on March 10th.
On March 11th,
Muriel Urban, our own Garden Chairperson, will don her poetry hat, and share some of her published works with us.
The library Series held at the Garden City Library on
March 19th
will feature members of the Club sharing their thoughts about Madeline Albright’s
The Mighty and the Almighty
with lecturer, Brian Quinn.
March 25th,
Garden City Chairperson, Muriel Urban will design five flower arrangements. Your holiday table could be prettier with one of those floral pieces.
Join us for one or more of these programs. Tea, cookies, and conversations top off the afternoon. All programs begin at 1:30 p.m. at the Casino, unless otherwise noted.
