Kyle Skramko representing the NY Knicks and Garden City has just returned from the NBA All-Star weekend where he participated in the National NBA FIT/WNBA FIT challenge. Kyle won a local competition and then went on to win the New York City Regional. Having one of the two top scores in the country, he qualified for the national competition.
On February 12th the NBA announced the 16 national finalists in the NBA FIT/WNBA FIT Challenge sponsored by SINGULAIR(r), a product of Merck. The 16 national finalists - eight boys and eight girls - qualified out of more than 100,000 youngsters who participated in competitions hosted in 35 cities across the country. Finalists went to Dallas, Texas courtesy of the NBA for an unforgettable weekend, which included competing in the national finals and a VIP experience at the 59th NBA All-Star Game held at Cowboys Stadium.

As part of the NBA All-Star weekend experience, the FIT Challenge participants attended an awards lunch hosted by NBA Legend Bob Lanier and WNBA Legend Jennifer Azzi and had a special meet and greet with NBA Commissioner David Stern. They also received in-arena recognition during NBA All-Star Saturday Night.
The FIT competition offers youngsters the chance to demonstrate their physical fitness through a time-based fitness course that includes line sprints, jump rope, speed revolutions, wall passes, and defensive shuffles. The challenge tests participants’ speed, strength, agility, endurance, and overall physical fitness.
We would like to thank Dean Maddalone, and the other coaches, trainers, and instructors at the Professional Athletic Performance Center that have worked with Kyle over the last five years. The Speed, Agility, and Quickness program offered by Professional has helped to make this life long memory possible.
