Stewart Students Collect Soles4Souls
“As part of our service learning project, all of the fifth grade classes at Stewart School collected shoes for Nepal,” commented teacher Barrie Dratch, pictured here with her students. “The students came up with ideas for getting the Soles4Souls information out to students and parents, as well as a way to raise the necessary funds for shipping the shoes to Nepal. This project really incorporated all areas of the curriculum.”
Soles4Souls is a non-profit organization created to facilitate shoe donations to people throughout the world who desperately need footwear.
When the donations were complete at Stewart School, the shoes were counted, and the students had collected 380 pairs for those in need. By organizing a special pizza sale, with discounted pies from Louie’s Pizzeria in the Country Glen Shopping Center (thank you!), the students were able to raise the necessary shipping funds to ensure the donated shoes arrive in Nepal.
Congratulations to the fifth grades at Stewart School for their efforts on behalf of Soles4Souls!
