Can you Karaoke! Come stretch your vocal cords and join us for a night of karaoke and fun! Sing your heart out or just have a few cocktails at Murphy’s Bar and Grill on Old Country Rd in Mineola on Thursday March 4th at 8 PM. Mail your checks for $35 payable to the Welcoming Club of Garden City to Jessica Oxenham at 126 Poplar St. This includes drinks, apps and karaoke. Hope to see you there!

MYSTERY MOVIE NIGHT

Just a note for all you Movie lovers... get your checks in early and reserve your spot for WEDNESDAY, MARCH 10. Yes, we’ve changed the day of the week, but not the fun.

Spread the Word—Just $25 will get you a delicious bite to eat, unlimited beer, wine and soda and candy and popcorn, of course! Come to Clearview Herricks Cinema at 3324 Hillside Ave, New Hyde Park at 7:30 pm. The movie begins at 8pm and we’ll have a lucky buck raffle plus a give-away of 2 free movie tickets. All proceeds supporting our philanthropic cause, IFOND (The International Foundation for Optic Nerve Disease). CUPCAKES

Kids love cupcakes. Kids love stories. What could be better than putting the two together? On Friday, March 12, The Children’s Day Off Committee has a “sweet” Young Children’s Event planned at The Cupcake Corner, 61 New Hyde Park Road, Garden City 516-328-2253. Join us for storytime followed by a Cupcake Decorating Tea Party. Children will enjoy decorating vanilla and chocolate cupcakes and making yummy creations while sipping pink lemonade in tin tea cups and enjoying fresh snacks at this fun, interactive party. Cupcakes, icing, edible glitters and candy; put them all together with your child’s imagination and you have a recipe for fun. The event will run from 12:00 p.m.-1:30 p.m. The cost of the event is $10 per child. ROCK N BOWL

March 20th, Saturday, 7:30pm - 11:00 Rock ‘N Bowl is here! Join us for a night of bowling, dinner and drinks on Saturday, March 20th from 7:30 pm to 11:00 pm at Garden City Lanes on Stewart Avenue. This popular event has become a couples night tradition with the Garden City Welcoming Club and promises to be a great night. For those basketball fans, there will be large screen TVs perfect for viewing March Madness. If you are interested in creating teams with friends, please send in your checks together with a list of names. The maximum number of people per lane is 6. If you would like to have two lanes together, please send in your checks together with a list of 12 people. The cost is $55 per person. Checks payable to The Welcoming Club of Garden City can be sent to Marie Penney 97 Transverse Rd. The deadline for registration is March 13th. As with all the couple events this year; all members of the Welcoming Club, Garden City residents and friends are welcome to join us!

The Welcoming Club of Garden City is a well-established women’s organization, which not only focuses on welcoming new members to our community through a variety of social activities, but also promotes charitable and humanitarian projects.
