THE ANXIETY AND DEPRESSION Group, a free self-help group for anxiety, panic disorder, depression, OCD and other nervous fears now meets every Thursdays at 8 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church, corner of Chester Ave. and New Hyde Park Rd. in Garden City. Through the Recovery International process, members learn to manage stress, panic, anxiety, depression, anger, irrational fears, phobias, compulsions, obsessions and other emotional or behavioral problems. Members also learn how to face and manage psychosomatic symptoms such as heart palpitations, dizziness, shortness of breath, sweats, fatigue, headaches, and sleep problems. Group leaders are trained volunteers who have experienced some type of difficulty with an emotional problem and practice the Recovery International method of self-help. POLICE REPORT: MISCHIEF AND MAYHEM

ON FEBRUARY 23, from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., a $350 spare tire was removed from the back of a Jeep parked in Field 6E. There are have been other incidents like this in nearby communities... ALSO THAT DAY, from 8 a.m. to noon, someone took $4 and other personal items from a car parked at Rockaway Avenue near the high school... ON FEBRUARY 19, 8:30 a.m., PO Matos stopped a commercial vehicle for not having a rear object detector device, and the driver, a 23-year-old Glen Cove male, was arrested for driving with an alleged suspended license (for driving while impaired) and for aggravated unlicensed operation... PO MATOS ARRESTED a 20-year-old Floral Park male for alleged aggravated unlicensed operation at 11:30 a.m. on February 20. The motorist was also unregistered, uninsured, with no front license plate and no inspection...ON FEBRUARY 15, PO Reilly arrested a 22-year-old male from West Hempstead at Cambridge Avenue after a suspended registration came up regarding the car. The motorist was charged with alleged aggravated unlicensed operation, suspended registration, unlicensed operation, and no insurance... BETWEEN FEBRUARY 16 and 17, unknown persons stole a side view mirror valued at $100 from an Adelphi University bus parked near Community Park... ON FEBRUARY 22, 7:30 p.m., PO Sansone arrested a 25-year-old Westbury man for no insurance, no inspection, no registration, and for the possession of stolen property (license plate) after the motorist was stopped at Poplar Street...
