Cake Decorating

Would you love to learn how to add some pizzazz to your cakes and cupcakes? Now is the time to turn those typical everyday cakes into delicious masterpieces. Join Marie Penney and Nancy Kephart, cake decorators, as they teach basic skills, such as smoothing and swirling icing, to more complex tricks like using fondant icing and making a basket weave icing. Each participant will leave with a goody bag ½lled with two sample recipes, decorating tools and a few delicious cupcakes that you design yourself! Seating is extremely limited- the event will take place on Friday, February 26th, 7:00-9:00 pm. at Marie’s home, 97 Transverse Road. The cost of the evening is $45, which will include light snacks and refreshments. Please mail a check made payable to the Welcoming Club of Garden City to Eileen Kakoyiannis, 39 Hamilton Place.

Ladies Night Out

Can you Karaoke! Come stretch your vocal cords and join us for a night of karaoke and fun! Sing your heart out or just have a few cocktails at Murphy’s Bar and Grill on Old Country Rd in Mineola on Thursday March 4th at 8 PM. Mail your checks for $35 payable to the Welcoming Club of Garden City to Jessica Oxenham at 126 Poplar St. This includes drinks, apps and karaoke. Hope to see you there!

MYSTERY MOVIE NIGHT

Just a note for all you Movie lovers... get your checks in early and reserve your spot for WEDNESDAY, MARCH 10. Yes, we’ve changed the day of the week, but not the fun.

The movie begins at 8pm and we’ll have a lucky buck raffle plus a give-away of 2 free movie tickets. All proceeds supporting our philanthropic cause, IFOND (The International Foundation for Optic Nerve Disease). The Welcoming Club of Garden City is a well-established women’s organization, which not only focuses on welcoming new members to our community through a variety of social activities, but also promotes charitable and humanitarian projects.
