Free Lecture On Men’s Health
Winthrop-University Hospital’s Perspectives in Health series will sponsor a free program, “Men’s Health: Erectile Dysfunction and More,” on Wednesday, February 24, at 7:00 PM. The program will be held at Winthrop’s Community Outreach Center, 101 Mineola Boulevard at the corner of Second Street in Mineola.
Erectile dysfunction, ED, is a chronic condition that affects up to 50% of men between the ages of 40 and 70. ED is most often a vascular disease and recent evidence suggests that ED may predict future cardiovascular events such as heart attack or stroke.
Low testosterone affects nearly 14 million men in the United States. Nearly 38% of men over the age of 45 have low testosterone levels, which can cause mood disturbances, including depression, loss of muscle size and strength, difficulty with concentration, and memory loss, among other symptoms.
Brett C. Mellinger, MD, Attending Urologist at Winthrop, will discuss ED, low testosterone levels and more, their evaluation and treatments.
Attendees are asked to arrive at 6:45 PM for registration. Parking and the entrance are available in the rear of the building. Admissions is free, but space is limited and pre-registration is required. To reserve your space, please call (516) 663-8300.
