Quilters and quilt-lovers should mark their calendars for the Long Island Quilters’ Society’s biennial quilt extravaganza, “Asian Inspired” on Saturday, March 20 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday March 21, 2010 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Garden City Field House (a new location for this show), located at 295 Stewart Avenue. The show will feature more than 200 traditional and art quilts created by regional quilters. The event will also include vendors, Members’ boutique, Challenge quilts on display, along with a fashion show at 2 p.m. on Saturday featuring locally-made quilted garments. March 20 is National Quilting Day and the Guild plans quilting demonstrations, charity quilt construction and sharing information about the quilt making process to the general public.
