Company Receives Community Service Award
Ken Mara and Joe Ingegno
To help educate the Long Island community about the dangers on the Internet, GC Alarm/World Wide Security participated in Garden City Middle School’s Career Day. Due to their efforts of distributing 280 Internet DVDs to these students, the security company was awarded a 2009 Community Service Award at the First Alert Professional Security Systems convention in San Diego, CA.
“Internet Safety is such an important topic these days. We wanted to educate the children in our community about the threats that can occur and we thought the Internet Safety DVD from First Alert Professional was an ideal way to communicate important safety practices. Hosted by Miss America 2007, the DVD discusses cyberbullying, social networking and Internet safety basics,” explains Joe Ingegno, co-owner of GC Alarm/World Wide Security.
After seeing the interest that the children had at the Garden City Middle School, Joe is planning on sharing the information with students and parents throughout the Garden City community. If you would like a complimentary copy of the Internet Safety DVD, which is hosted by Lauren Nelson, Miss America 2007, please contact GC Alarm/World Wide Security at 516-222-1414.
