Kevin Pollitt This month’s Behind-the-Scenes: Employee Spotlight is focused on Mr. Kevin Pollitt, computer teacher at Stratford Avenue School.

Mr. Pollitt, who began his career in the Garden City school district in 2004, was selected for this distinction by the Stratford School staff. In the words of Principal Diane Hopkins, “Mr. Pollitt is an extremely enthusiastic teacher. He provides the students with a very positive, supportive environment, one in which mutual respect and cooperation pervades.” Mr. Pollitt collaborates very well with the staff and is a wonderful resource to the entire faculty and administration, providing support and sharing his expertise wherever needed. He can be counted on to assist anyone who needs his help. Mr. Pollitt is always willing to go above and beyond the call of duty. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he has been a member of the Site-based Team; Chairperson of Stratford’s Technology Committee, Moderator for the Early Morning Sports Program, Mathletes and Math Olympiad coordinator, and currently serves as building representative for the Garden City Teachers’ Association, Inc. Mr. Pollitt has many outside interests including acting as a Boy Scout Mentor, cooking, and spending free time with his wife and son walking, biking, and going to the park.

Kevin Pollitt is a true asset to the students and staff of the Garden City School District, in particular, the Stratford Community. A sincere thank you is in order for all his contributions in helping to make Stratford School such a special learning environment!
