Indoor Snow At Garden City Middle School
      Students in Mrs. Constance Beovich’s Home and Careers class and Home Base at Garden City Middle School recently experienced snow indoors! They created edible snowmen and were patient enough to pose for pictures before gobbling up their yummy creations!

5th Graders At Stratford Learn cyberSMARTZ
      Fifth graders at Stratford Avenue School learned about acting responsibly online through Child Abuse Prevention Services (CAPS) new Internet safety program, cyberSMARTZ. CAPS is Long Island’s leading organization dedicated to preventing child abuse and neglect, and provides violence prevention and child safety education in Nassau and Suffolk schools at no cost.

      In response to the earthquake rescue effort taking place in Haiti, students from the Waldorf School of Garden City - in conjunction with our sister schools throughout the New York area (the Brooklyn Waldorf School, the Rudolf Steiner School in Manhattan, and the Green Meadow Waldorf School in Chestnut Ridge, New York) - have organized a massive coin-drive.

      The national theme for Catholic Schools Week 2010, “Dividends for Life”, seemed to be a natural extension of the “Advantage for Life” campaign St. Joseph School has running for several years now, and Sunday, January 31st, 2010 marked the opening of Catholic Schools Week, a week-long celebration of choosing Catholic Education.
