Soroptimist Meeting Hosts Guest Speaker

Soroptimist International of Nassau County (SINC) will hold its monthly dinner meeting & program on Tuesday, February 16, at 6 PM.

The topic of the meeting will be “Healthcare Advocacy: Taking Care Of Ourselves And The Ones We Love.” The guest speaker will be Ilene Corina, founder of PULSE of NY, a grass roots patient safety organization.

We spend many hours worrying about others during times when our friends or family are sick, and many hours trying to keep ourselves healthy - but what about when we, the primary caretaker of others, becomes ill, injured or needs a medical procedure? Who becomes our advocate and what should we expect of them? Are we actually helping others or do we merely think we are helping? How do we know the difference? Expert Ilene Corina will present an interactive program addressing these pressing issues at SINC’s February dinner meeting.

The meeting will take place at The Orchid Restaurant, 730 Franklin Avenue, Garden City.

Cost: SINC Members $35; Non-Members $40
