Adelphi To Host Andy Bichelbaum

2010-02-05 / Community

Adelphi University will host Andy Bichelbaum, co-star of the new documentary “The Yes Men Fix the World.” Andy and Mike Bonano, the other half of the Yes Men, are gonzo journalists who impersonate and target leaders of big corporations - Halliburton, Exxon Mobile, and Dow Chemical - who seem to value profits over people. Mr. Bichelbaum will speak during the event and show clips of the documentary on Monday, February 8, 2010 from 4:15 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. in the Adelphi University Performing Arts Center (AU PAC), Concert Hall, 1 South Avenue, Garden City. The event is free and open to the public.

The Yes Men’s documentary “The Yes Men Fix the World,” has recently brought them a lot of praise. The feature focuses on two political activists dressed in thrift-store suits who pose as top executives of giant corporations, lie their way into big business conferences, and stage outrageous pranks. The documentary shows the Yes Men as they travel from New Orleans to India to New York City, satirizing and criticizing the way in which corporate greed affects the world.

The event is sponsored by Adelphi University*s Criminal Justice Club, Criminal Justice Program, Amnesty International Club, the Department of Sociology, Delta Sigma Pi Business Fraternity, and ICAN.
