Catherine Cafaro and Michelle Rotondo in the 300m finals.
The Trojan girls had another solid week on the track highlighted by invitations to the 103rd running of the Millrose Games on January 29th at Madison Square Garden for the 4x400 and 4x800 relays. The longest-running annual event held at The Garden and one of the best indoor track and field meets in the world, The Millrose Games features some of America’s and the world’s top track and field talent. And this years edition includes two Garden City foursomes! The 4x400 squad of Catherine Cafaro, Taryn Schmelzinger, Katie O’Neill and Alexis Yeboah-Kodie qualified for the event with a season best 4:01.66. While the 4x800 team of Jenna DeAngelo, Emma Gallagher, Taylor Hennig and Michelle Rotondo earned an invitation with a solid time of 9:27.82 at the Hispanic Games. An impressive accomplishment for the talented eight girls, made even more impressive since team leader and Georgetown bound senior Emily Menges is not among this group. Emily is just about set to put her shot put back on the shelf and return to the track.
Liz Weber gains around the turn.

And then ending the day with a first place finish in the 4x400 relay were Catherine Cafaro, Katie O’Neill, Jenna DeAngelo and Emma Gallagher. And in the 6 hours in between those two races were medal winners Catherine Cafaro (5th) in the 300m, Jenna DeAngelo (4th) in the 600m and Emma Gallagher (4th) in the 1600m. As well as personal bests by Laura Jaeger and Victoria Chimento in the 55m, Monica Mochasi in the 55H, Alexis Yeboah-Kodie and Michelle Rotondo in the 300m, Katie O’Neill and Taryn Schmelzinger in the 600m, Taylor Hennig in the 1000m and Emma Gallagher and Jen Gerland in the 1600m.
