Tufts University recently announced the Dean’s List for the Fall 2009 semester. Among these students is Amanda Russo of Garden City of the Class of 2010.

Dean’s List honors at Tufts University require a semester grade point average of 3.4 or greater.

The following area residents have been named to the Dean’s List at Providence College for the Fall 2009 semester:

Jacquelyn Bishop of Stewart Manor, a member of the class of 2011,

Jaclyn D’Aversa of Garden City, a member of the class of 2012,

Lindsay Giordano of Garden City, a member of the class of 2011,

Amanda Joyce of Garden City, a member of the class of 2011,

Teresa Lynch of Garden City, a member of the class of 2013,

Gregory Maloney of Garden City, a member of the class of 2010,

Michaela Manning of Garden City, a member of the class of 2010,

Kathryn McCann of Stewart Manor, a member of the class of 2012,

Suzanne McKenna of Garden City, a member of the class of 2010,

Megan O’Donnell of Garden City, a member of the class of 2013,

Erica Passaretti of Garden City, a member of the class of 2011,

Jenna Wood of Garden City, a member of the class of 2010,

To qualify for the Dean’s List, students must achieve at least a 3.55 grade point average with a minimum of 12 credits.

Harrison E. Aidala of Harrison Street in Garden City, a senior cinema and screen studies major, has been named to the Deans’ List for the fall semester at SUNY Oswego.

The President’s and Deans’ lists represent the academic top 26.1 percent of the Oswego student body. Students who achieve grade averages of 3.80 and above on the 4.00 scale are named to the President’s List, the top 6.8 percent of Oswego students. To be included on the Deans’ List, students must have a semester grade average of 3.30 to 3.79.

Bucknell University has released the dean’s list for outstanding academic achievement during the fall semester of the 2009-10 academic year. A student must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a scale of 4.0 to receive dean’s list recognition. Those students from Garden City who met this standard are:

Jeffrey A. Greco, Garden City, son of Richard and Donna Greco of Garden Cityand a 2006 graduate of Garden City H S.

Jeanine E. Ippolito, Garden City, daughter of Michael and Christine Ippolito of Garden City, and a 2007 graduate of Garden City H S.

Andrew J. Van Valkenburg, Garden City, son of Paul and Kathleen Van Valkenburg of Garden City, and a 2008 graduate of Lawrenceville School, Lawrenceville, NJ.

Shauna Keague of Garden City, a first-year Undeclared major at York College of Pennsylvania, has been named to the Dean’s List for the Fall 2009 semester.

To be eligible for this honor, a student must be registered for at least 12 academic credit hours and earn a semester GPA of 3.50 or higher.
