Wed At Hempstead Town Hall On Valentines Day
Hempstead Town Supervisor Kate Murray (center) visited Steve Harper and Maria Garcia of KJOY’s morning show to congratulate Maria on her new book, “101 Ways To Torture Your Husband.”
Hempstead Town Supervisor Kate Murray and WKJY’s Steve and Maria are inviting couples to wed on the most romantic day of the year, Valentine’s Day. In addition, the Supervisor welcomes married couples to renew their vows on cupid’s special day. Newlyweds will enjoy a beautiful ceremony in the town’s historic courtroom and a special reception. Brides will receive a copy of the new book “101 Ways to Torture Your Husband” autographed by KJOY personality and author Maria Garcia.
“I am encouraging couples who are planning their nuptials to schedule their ceremony for February 14,” said Murray. “Why not exchange wedding vows in our historic and charming courtroom under a festive arch of pink, white and red balloons?”
Valentine’s Day wedding ceremonies have always been special at Hempstead Town Hall. “Our facilities truly convey a warm atmosphere that most governmental facilities lack,” observed Town Clerk Mark Bonilla. “White columns and gold leaf filigree complement lovely colonial and antique lighting fixtures.”
In addition, the historic courtroom setting will be decorated with a balloon arch and flowers provided by Mormile Florist of Rockville Centre. After each ceremony, couples will be treated to a reception to toast their nuptials with sparkling cider and a variety of delicacies and sweets furnished by the Stop & Shop Supermarket Company. A special wedding cake will be provided compliments of Wild by Nature Markets and other deserts courtesy of Entenmann’s Family Bakery. Finally, each couple will receive a gift from 5TH Avenue Chocolatiere and a long-stemmed rose from 1-800-FLOWERS.
Adding to the festivities, special wedding guest, Maria Garcia of K-Joy’s Steve and Maria morning show will be in attendance to sign copies of her new book, “101 Ways To Torture Your Husband”.
“This is one of the most enjoyable functions that I preside over as Supervisor,” concluded Murray. “I wish all of our couples a lifetime of health and happiness together.”
Couples must secure a marriage license at least 24 hours in advance and make advance reservations to participate in the Valentine’s Day ceremonies. Please call the Town Clerk’s Office at 516-812-3019 for more information.
