Downloadable Audiobooks and eBook Collection To Be Available

Beginning February 1st, 2010, the Garden City Public Library will participate in the Nassau Digital Doorway, which provides a collection of downloadable media. Garden City Public Library patrons will be able to use their library cards to download audiobooks and eBooks to their iPods and other Mp3 devices, phones, and Sony eReaders through the Library’s website 24 hours a day seven days a week.

Patrons need a valid Garden City Public Library card, a personal computer, and an internet connection to use the new digital collection. Residents who listen to audiobooks on their daily commute will have an additional and extensive collection available to download to their personal devices. Those who have been looking forward to enjoying new eBook titles will also have access to a full collection of popular and bestselling titles for their eReaders and other devices. Titles will be available in every genre and subject, including materials for children and young adults. More details will be available in the coming weeks about the launching of this new electronic service.
