JP Welch & Laurel Fisher get ready to tear up the track!

Members of the St. Anne’s track team ventured out into the cold this past Sunday morning to participate in an Indoor meet at Suffolk Community College. The intrepid few that made the trip fared very well.

Stephanie Gerland (Midget) and Laurel Fisher (Youth) each placed first in the USATF Long Island Association Indoor Championship 3000 meter race. Stephanie smashed the existing Midget record by 4 minutes while Laurel missed breaking the Youth record by one second!

In the boys division JP Welch scored second place in the 3000 meter run. Jimmy Searson also ran well in the 55 meter and 400 meter runs among extremely stiff competition.

Next meet is on February 6th which will include the remaining Indoor Championship races.
