A Word From The Publisher
Monday is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Many people have the day off from work or school, which will no doubt be enjoyable.
However, we heard a really good suggestion recently about a way to honor Dr. King’s memory. Instead of relaxing, how about spending the day doing service to others?
A government web site, www.mlkday.gov has many suggestions about how to get started on a service project, including searchable databases of organizations throughout the country which need helping hands.
The website is run by the Corporation for National and Community Service, and is rich with interesting material, from information about Dr. King, to opportunities to connect with other volunteers through social networking.
Already made plans for the holiday? That’s okay too. Just pick another day and make that your own private day of service.
