GCPD Makes Drug Arrests

During the past month, the Garden City Detective Division developed information in regards to frequent sales of cocaine between two parties on 7th Street in Garden City. Based on the information they obtained, the detectives conducted surveillance details on 7th Street. On January 7th, the detectives observed a transaction between the two parties in the vestibule of the Chase Bank. After the transaction, the subject seller, a male 25 from Mineola left the scene in an auto driven by a male 20 from Hicksville. The buyer, a male 42 from Garden City, was stopped by an officer as he tried to leave the scene. He was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance. The Detectives stopped the subject vehicle on Golf Club Lane where the driver was arrested and charged with Criminal Facilitation and the occupant was arrested and charged with Felony Sale of a Controlled Substance and two Felony counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance (Cocaine).

This investigation assisted the Garden City Detectives in developing information of a pending sale of a large amount of cocaine at the Mineola Train Station. The Garden City Detectives then notified specialized units of the Nassau County Police Department with this information. Both departments then organized a detail at that location which led to the arrest of a male 30 from New York City for the sale of a large amount of cocaine. The subject was charged with three counts of Felony Sale of a Controlled Substance.

Garden City Police Commissioner, Ernest Cipullo, states “These investigations and arrests are an example of the Garden City Police Department’s dedication and determination to detect and remove all subjects who pose a threat to the well being of the residents of Garden City as well as surrounding communities. These cases are great examples of the cooperation between the Garden City and Nassau County Police Departments in combating serious issues that confront society today.”
