Nassau County Shows Appreciation
Nassau County Parks Commissioner Jose Lopez presents Garden City resident Bill Mecca with a Citation from the Nassau County Executive expressing the county’s appreciation for his contributions to the health of residents by organizing and implementing a free day of tennis for over 1100 Nassau County children and adults in 8 parks.
For a number of years Mr. Mecca has organized this tennis blitz in the parks. This year he recruited over 60 volunteers, tennis pros, USTA staffers, camps and camp counselors to help teach the health benefits of tennis and the USTA’s new QuickStart format.
Mr. Mecca is a USPTA certified tennis professional well-known for teaching at venues that include the Garden City Casino and the Garden City Community Park Tennis Facility.
