James Olivo,
Auditor For The Village
of Garden City to Speak
On Monday, January 25th, we are privileged to have Garden City Auditor James Olivo spend time to discuss with us matters pertaining to the annual budget and pertinent financial obligations of the Village. Although Mr. Olivo is the official Auditor of the Village, he has broad responsibilities as manager of day-to-day finances. These duties include annual budget planning, cash management, bill paying, investing and borrowing Village funds and assisting in Village tax planning and tax assessments. He has been with our Village for many years and is a real pro in the field of municipal finance. His remarks are particularly timely in January as the budget for the 2010/2011 fiscal year is being debated by Village administrators, our Village Trustees and property owners associations.

FLU Season Remains Be Careful -
Get Your Flu Shot
Take these everyday steps to protect your health:
• Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after a cough or sneeze.
• Use a tissue to cover your nose and mouth when you cough or sneeze. Discard tissue after each use.
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread this way.
• Try to avoid close contact with sick people
• Flu symptoms include fever, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, headaches, chills and fatigue. May also include diarrhea and vomiting.
Be extra careful .... The H1N1 virus has caused severe illness and death.
We can and should take good care of our bodies and minds with proper exercise and diet. Felicia will not feed you, but she stands ready to help with the right exercise program. Bring a partner.
Another great way to exercise ... Bowling ... Come bowl with us at Herrill Lanes any Friday at 12:45 p.m. If you care to join us, call Ron Zwicke at 747-6842. You will be happy with the results.
