Alzheimer’s Foundation To Host Conference
Long Island Alzheimer’s Foundation (LIAF) will be hosting their 22nd Annual “Coping and Caring” Conference and Expo on Thursday February 4, 2010. This years’ conference will address such topics as: “Coping as a Couple”; “I Have Alzheimer’s Disease, Now What?” “Brain Training & Alzheimer’s Research Update”; and Financing your Future Health Care Needs.”
The conference, aimed at families and professional caregivers dealing with the hardships of Alzheimer’s disease and related Dementias, will be held from 7:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Ruth S. Harley University Center at Adelphi University, Garden City, NY 11530: 516-877-3610. Admission for family caregivers is $45, professional caregivers $85 and students with valid ID $25, and includes continental breakfast, lunch and program materials. The featured speakers for the conference include:
* Dementia Training Specialist Teepa Snow, MS, OTR/L, FAOTA,
* Alan Mazurek, M.D. Assistant Clinical Professor of Neurology at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in Manhattan and Attending Neurologist at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset.
* Rose Marie Mathew, D.O. Board certified neurologist who received her medical degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine
* Renowned Legal Advisory Panel composed by LIAF
