Adele J. Peak

Adele J. Peak passed away peacefully in her Garden City home on December 27, 2009. She was 84 years old.

Born in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn on November 28, 1925, Adele was the daughter of Alena and Charles Bianco.

Adele graduated from Brooklyn College with a degree in Mathematics. She very much enjoyed her careers as a Math teacher and an actuarial at the Archdiocese of New York.

Adele was an active member of St. Joseph’s Church where she was a parishioner for over 35 years. She also enjoyed the activities and friendships she formed at the Garden City Senior Center.

Adele was married to George Peak for 54 years before his death in 2004. She is survived by four of her five children; her eldest son, Robert Peak, predeceased her in 2003. Her surviving children are Audrey Barrow (Thomas), Catherine Bendert (Thomas), William Peak and Carol McIntyre (Frank).

Adele is also survived by 8 grandchildren, who were the loves of her life. Jacqueline and Jessica Bendert of Garden City; Charlotte Peak of Brooklyn; Courtney Barrow of Bethlehem, PA; and Sarah, Kyle, Matthew and Robert McIntyre of Westfield, NJ.

Adele was very much loved by her family and friends and will be sorely missed. Adele J. Peak will remain in our hearts forever.

Eleanor T. Marshall

Eleanor T. Marshall died December 26, 2009. She was 94.

Mrs. Marshall was born in Brattleboro, Vermont. She was a daughter of Ernest H. and Eva L. (Ellis) Tudor.

She graduated from Arms Academy in Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts, and from Bay Path College in Longmeadow, Massachusetts.

After her graduation from college, she was employed by the New England Power Service Company in Boston, Massachusetts, until her marriage to Ernest D. Marshall of Garden City, New York, in 1974.

Mrs. Marshall was a member of the Garden City Community Church; The American Legion Auxiliary, William Bradford Turner Unit, No. 265; The Community Club of Garden City and Hempstead, Inc., The P.E.O. Sisterhood, Chapter X; The University Club of Long Island; The Samoset Chapter No. 109, Order of the Eastern Star in Norwood, Massachusetts; and The Shelburne Historical Society, Inc. in Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts.

Her husband predeceased her in 1988.

She is survived by two nephews, Lawrence E. Bergmann of Atlanta, Georgia, and Robert E. Bergmann of Somers, Connecticut, two grand nieces and a grand nephew.
