Stephanie Gerland Participates In Cross Country Nationals

On the rainy morning of December 12th,, the Gerland family loaded the car and headed for the National Junior Olympic Cross Country Championship to be held on December 13th in Mechanicsville, Virginia. Stephanie Gerland, a fifth grader at Stratford School and a member of the St. Anne's Holy Spirit Cross Country team, had placed first on Long Island, and seventh in USATF Region 1 and was on her way to participate as a National Championship Qualifier at the National Championships! Stephanie had a terrific race taking about a minute off her best time and finishing the 3K in 12:47, placing 36th in the country! Congratulations to Stephanie and her family from her coaches and teammates. We are all proud of you Steffie. keep up the great work!
