Come to the Library to learn everything you've always wanted to know about property taxes and more. Mr. Donald X. Clavin Jr., Receiver of Taxes for the Town of Hempstead, will be at The Garden City Public Library on Thursday, January 15th at 7:00PM to address such issues as tax discounts, property tax exemptions, new payment options, and the ever popular, how to challenge your tax assessment. He will also answer all of your pertinent questions. There is no registration for this program and it is open to all. On Wednesday, January 14th at 7PM, The Garden City Public Library will offer a presentation to help you get a better understanding of your sugar cravings and how to reduce them. With this new understanding, you will be able to start to lose those unwanted holiday pounds. You will not only learn about artificial sweeteners and their hidden dangers but you will also be taught how to read food labels. As an extra bonus, Food for Thought will be serving healthy snacks. This informative program is for Garden City residents only and registration must be done in person beginning Sunday, January 4th.
