GCAA’s 56 intramural teams opened their season on Sat Dec 5th at St. Paul’s with exciting baseline to baseline action. You can follow our game results and standings on the GCAA website, www.gc-aa.com. Full team rosters and schedules for our intramural teams are posted on the website. In addition to our intramural program, GCAA also runs a travel basketball program with 17 travel teams playing at Island Garden. Please note four of twelve 5-6 Boys teams will play Monday nights at St. Paul’s. We will use these Monday night times so as to avoid CYO conflicts when possible. It is anticipated each 5-6 Boys teams will play an average of 9 games on Saturdays and 3 on Mondays during our 12 game season.

Even though our deadline was October 31st, GCAA Basketball is still accepting intramural applications for the 2009-2010 Season subject to space availability and payment of a late fee. We still have space especially in some of our younger divisions. Please sign up now before certain divisions get closed out.

Our new 7-8 Boys league is closed given its popularity and our limited court time. Going forward, please note it is important to sign up well before our deadlines as early sign ups help us plan accordingly and facilitate our ability to secure court time. These 7-8 boys are playing real games with coaches, rosters, standings, etc. With a few more early sign ups, we could have expanded this league to accommodate additional players. I would ask 6th and 7th grade parents take note of this for future years since we do plan to offer 7-8 Boys league in the 2010-2011 season as well and we would prefer for no players to get shut out.

By the time this article is published all GCAA players should have been contacted by your intramural coach with the exception of K-1 clinic participants. K-1 Clinic kids should just show up at St. Paul’s on Saturdays at 8:00AM. If your child is in 2nd grade or higher and you signed up for GCAA Basketball but you do not see your child’s name on our website, please follow up with one of the coordinators listed below.
