Stratford School’s entire fifth grade recently visited the Metropolitan Opera House, where Garden City Public Schools is a member, to see a dress rehearsal performance of Hector Berlioz’s Le Damnation de Faust. Students prepared for this trip by studying the story of the opera with music teacher Meredith Stillwell. “The trip to the Met is designed to help the students have a better understanding of opera,” commented Miss Stillwell. “As a culmination of their learning, they attended the Faust dress rehearsal at the MET.”
