For the past fifteen years, Wendy’s restaurants have teamed up with the Heisman Memorial Trophy committee to create the Wendy’s High School Heisman Award. This award honors male and female high school students who excel in academics, athletics, and student leadership.

“When not fully immersed in his school work, Chris is involved in several different activities,” commented his guidance counselor, Jeanne Kennedy.

“His passion is the water,... any water! Whether it is swimming for pleasure, lifeguarding or simply vacationing by the beach, he is a lover of nature and all of its surroundings. He is the Captain of the Garden City High School varsity swim team where he has led his team to Division Championships and County Qualifying Tournaments. Chris is a member of the Key Club where this year he was elected as President of the Interact Division. He has held the position of Public Relations Officer for this club, as well. He has dedicated himself to fundraisers in support of our high school and the surrounding community.

“Christopher’s dedication to community service goes well beyond the doors of our high school,” Ms. Kennedy continued. “A great example of this is when he visited the Mayera Village School in Ghana, West Africa. During this trip, he developed and organized fundraising events where he raised over $2,000 for the repair of the roof of this nursery school.”

Great work, Christopher - congratulations on a well-deserved award!
