ON SUNDAY , December 13, the Waldorf Choral Society, with soprano Elizabeth Farnum and an orchestra, will present a concert of holiday music at 3 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Incarnation, 50 Cathedral Ave. The concert will feature works by Bach (Christmas Cantata No. 142), Vivaldi (Beatus Vir), and Michael Haydn as well as other holiday selections. Tickets, priced at $20 adults, $18 for students with ID and seniors and $5 for children under 12, may be purchased at the door or by calling 747-4457... AS PART OF A FREE series of cultural events and lectures sponsored by Molloy College’s Irish Studies Institute, on that same day, Brian Cogan will examine how 100 years of Irish culture have influenced American popular culture. The fun begins at 3 p.m. in the Reception Room of Kellenberg Hall at Molloy College. Take a look at Thomas Nast’s Irish cartoons and their influence on early American cartoons, Irish stage plays and songs, Irish folk music and its influence on Dylan the American folk scene, Samuel Beckett’s influence on Seinfeld, Bono’s influence on what it means to be American today. POLICE REPORT: MISCHIEF AND MAYHEM

ON DECEMBER 7, police arrested a 63-year-old man from Howard Beach and a 47-year-old woman from Lynbrook for allegedly taking items from a car parked at Community Park. The couple allegedly stole the identity of Meadbrook resident and then went on a shopping spree spending over $1700 at the Roosevelt Field shopping mall... BETWEEN DECEMBER 4 and 5, over $2500 in damage was found on a car parked at Euston Road. Someone had keyed the entire car... ALSO ON DECEMBER 4, detectives arrested a 17-year-old Wantagh male after he was allegedly in possession of marijuana while sitting as a passenger in a car at Cherry Valley Ave./South Avenue... BURGLARS RANSACKED a bedroom at Pell Terrace between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m., on December 4, and took $150 and other items. A fence in the backyard there was also found broken... BETWEEN DECEMBER 4 and 5, tires on a car were found slashed as well as the passenger side of that same car was found keyed at Locust Street. $2000 damage...ALSO ON DECEMBER 4, a wallet was taken from under a desk at a Stewart Avenue office and later everything was recovered but the cash... ON DECEMBER 2, the same thing happened only $100 and personal papers were taken... ON DECEMBER 5, PO Oswald arrested a 25-year-old Santa Ana, CA man for alleged DWI (.14%), possession of a controlled substance (cocaine), no passing zone, improper turn, failure to signal, unlicensed operation, no headlights, no insurance and no seatbelt, at Clinton Road after the motorist drove northbound in southbound lanes with headlights on, at Clinton Road, at 4:57 a. m.. .ON DECEMBER 1 , PO Reilly arrested a 61-year-old Glen Cove man after he allegedly drove southbound on Clinton Road, and while driving, hit a car in front of him, then backed up and hit the car behind him. He was arrested for DWAI (drugs) and luckily no one was hurt... ON DECEMBER 7, detectives from the First Precinct investigated an assault, and as part of that investigation went to the workplace of the suspect at Hampton Road. The suspect fled the area and as consequence the high school was placed in lockdown until the person was caught. GC police assisted, however, the person is still at large...
