Garden City High School junior Gloria DiMino and senior Michael Abatemarco, pictured here with Principal Nanine Cuttitta and Superintendent of Schools Dr. Robert Feirsen, have been selected as Prudential Spirit of Community winners. The program’s goals are to applaud young people who are making a difference in their towns and neighborhoods, and inspire others to think about how they might contribute to their communities. The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards program is the largest youth recognition program in the United States based exclusively on community service.

“Both Michael and Gloria have volunteered significant amounts of their time to serve their community and country,” commented Principal Cuttitta. “Michael and Gloria demonstrate an enormous capacity for helping those in need. We are very proud of them both.”
