The Music Academy of Garden City has joined the efforts of “Operation Christmas Child,” a charitable organization that collects Christmas gifts for needy children around the world. Throughout the month, Music Academy parents, students and staff donated a total of 62 shoeboxes, which were stuffed with candy, toys, clothing, and basic hygienic items like toothbrushes, toothpaste and soap. The beautifully wrapped shoeboxes will be shipped overseas to less fortunate children just in time for Christmas. Students were able to choose what to put in the boxes, and some even sent a letter to the child who will be receiving the gift. The Music Academy would like to thank every family that participated in this worthy cause.
