Christmas Vespers & Candlelight Dinner Program
Robert Ludwig, Music Minister.
The Garden City Community Church is sponsoring the Christmas Vespers & Candlelight Dinner Program this Sunday, December 13th. The two part event takes place starting at 4:30pm in the Sanctuary with the Christmas Vespers Service and culminates with the Candlelight Dinner in Gardner Hall.
This year’s Christmas Vespers theme is “Candles & Carols- a Service of Hope, Peace, Joy & Love.” All of the choirs, from the four-year-olds in the Alleluia Choir to the more experienced singers in the Adult Choir, will join together to present beautiful and exciting music of the Christmas season. Selections will include a tender and moving arrangement of “The First Noel”; “Bring a Torch, Jeanette, Isabella”, accompanied by classical guitar; the funky “Run, Shepherds, Run” accompanied by bass guitar, drums and piano; Handel’s thrilling chorus “For Unto Us a Child is Born” from “Messiah”; and many other favorite Christmas songs and carols the public will enjoy.
Adult Choir members.
Immediately following the service is the Christmas Candlelight Dinner, Italian-style.
The public is invited and membership at the Community Church is not required. Tickets are $5 each for the Candlelight Dinner, not to exceed $20 per family. A “free will offering” will be taken at the Vespers Service. All visitors can make reservations by calling the Garden City Community Church at 746-1700 or by e-mailing MLD@GardenCityCommunity
