Trojan Club Supports School Spirit
The Trojan Club at the Garden City High School is the school spirit club. This school year, 2009-2010, we proudly have seven members. Pictured here are (left to right): (standing, back row): Ben Galgano, Brian Emmert (Vice President); (standing, front row): Catherine Snyder, Molly Timmins (Historian), Bobby Heineman (Treasurer), Mike Barden (Public Relations), Laura Palermo (President); absent from picture: advisor Kathleen Abrams. Almost all of us have been in the club since our freshman year, and have faithfully been members ever since. Our dedicated club advisor, Mrs. Kathleen Abrams, has been running the club for over 10 years.
Trojan Club’s main activity is to run the Snack Shack, located on the corner of the GCHS football field, right by the scoreboard. We open up for every home Garden City Trojan football game, basketball game, and lacrosse game. Our main duty is to serve the people a variety of food and drinks and make sure that each and every fan who attends the exciting GCHS football games is happy. With the money that we make, we help fund school events, mainly the fall Pep Rally. At the end of the year, we donate some of our funds to the Sunrise Day Camp, a treatment facility and camp for children who are diagnosed with cancer. The Trojan Club at the Garden City High School is really like a family to us, and we truly enjoy what we do. (By Brian Emmert, Laura Palermo, Molly Timmins)
