BETWEEN NOVE MBER 23 and 30, someone took a $150 Ipod Nano from a locker at the Adelphi U. Sports Center... On November 28, a wallet containing numerous credit cards, gift cards, and personal items was taken at Lord and Taylor... ON NOVEMBER 29, 2 smoke bombs were reported at a Euston Rd. residence;one was found on a truck bed parked there and the other was on the lawn... ON NOVEMBER 24, rims and tires were taken from 2 Hondas parked in the Chester Avenue parking lot... BETWEEN NOVEMB ER 24 and 26, diapers and other baby items were taken from a car parked at John Street... ON NOVEMBER 24, an alarm on a car sounded but nothing was taken... BETWEEN NOVEMB ER 23 and 24, a thief went through the contents of two cars parked in the Transverse Road area, but took nothing... DURING THE SAME time, a $300 Garmin GPS was stolen from a car parked on Avalon Rd... ON NOVEMBER 25, a 45-year-old Oceanside woman was arrested for the alleged larceny of $270 in items at Lord and Taylor, which included Buffalo jeans, a Free People sweater, and a Karen Kane shirt... ON NOVEMBER 27, an incident occurred at a catering hall in the Marine Base, where a 23-year-old Hempstead man allegedly hit a 14-year-old girl in her face, and he was arrested the next day... ALSO ON NOVEMBER 27, detectives arrested a 45-year-old Howard Beach female for the alleged identity theft of a GC resident. The woman was also charged with four counts of grand larceny because of using credit cards at Community Park and at Macy’s... ON NOVEMBER 26, a $350 Garmin was taken from an unlocked Honda parked at Amherst Street... ALSO ON NOVEMBER 26, $350 and credit cards as well as a wallet, were stolen from an unlocked car parked in an unlocked garage... ALSO THAT DAY, PO Oswald arrested a 20-year-old Mineola man at Meadow Street/Washington Ave. for alleged DWI (.12%), no passing zone, unsafe lane change, failure to signal, failure to maintain a lane, and no insurance... BURGLARS PRIED open a rear window at a Greenridge Park house between 2:50 p.m. and 10 p.m. on November 28 and stole over $4,000 in items. A $500 window and an $1800 door were damaged... PO OSWALD arrested a 23-year-old Mineola man for 3 counts of possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) in a vehicle traffic stop at Clinton Rd. on November 28... A 47-YEAR-OLD woman turned herself in on November 28 , after detectives were investigating her for ID theft. She allegedly took over $1700 on a credit card belonging to a GC resident... PO FLORIO stopped a 30-year-old Williston Park woman for allegedly speeding at 60 in a 30 mph zone on Franklin Avenue, November 29. She was arrested for alleged DWI(.09%), speeding, unsafe lane change, and no insurance... ON DECEMBER 1, a truck stop was conducted at NHP Road with 9 trucks inspected and 4 trucks taken out for safety. One driver was cited for unlicensed operation and 1 vehicle had a suspended registration. 54 tickets were issued... ON NOVEMBER 24, police noticed a 2-year-old girl wandering down Laurel Street by herself. The girl was underdressed for the cold weather, and her mother was incapacitated due to prescription drugs inside a friend’s house there. The mother was taken to Nassau County Medical and later arrested for endangering the welfare of a child and the child was turned over to Child Protective Services, where the father of the child was contacted. Meanwhile, the mother’s friend was arrested on an outstanding traffic warrant dating back to 1986...
