It’s the season of giving! Saint Anne’s Church is sponsoring Christmas food and gift collections to help local families struggling in this difficult economic environment. Many are working families that have lost part of their income because of lost jobs or reduced work schedules. At this time of the year, a little help from neighbors through food or gifts donations can make a big difference to a struggling family. These are ways you can help:

You can “Sponsor a Family” for Christmas. You supply both groceries for a Christmas meal and clothing & gifts for the children. To “Sponsor a Family” at the Gerald Ryan Outreach Center in Wyandanch call:

You can make a monetary donation that will be used to purchase bulk food for over 200 families at the Gerald & Louise Kaiser Outreach Center in Uniondale. To prepare Christmas dinners for these families we need 500 pounds of rice, 100 hams and 100 turkeys, as well as, 400 cans of vegetables, 200 cans of yams and other staples for the Christmas meal. Please send a check payable to Saint Anne’s Church with the notation “Christmas food” to Saint Anne’s Church, 35 Dartmouth Street, Garden City, NY 11530.

You can bring a gift for a child between the ages of 1 - 16 to the closets at the Dartmouth Street entrance to Saint Anne’s Church. The closets are at the top of the stairs on the left. Or you can send a check payable to Saint Anne’s Church with the notation “Christmas gifts” to Saint Anne’s Church, 35 Dartmouth Street, Garden City, NY 11530.
