Garden City Resident Leads 2009 AHRC Walkathon

GC Middle School teacher Ms. Rumbelow with her niece Garden City resident, Nicole Nolan Koester, led the aerobic warm-up for the Nassau County AHRC Foundation’s annual walkathon at Eisenhower Park on November 1st. An enthusiastic crowd of over 400 walkers, including students from Garden City Middle and High Schools, turned out to help raise over $21,000. AHRC Nassau is the third largest provider in New York State and Long Island’s premier provider meeting the needs of children and adults with intellectual and other developmental disabilities. AHRC provides community-based programs and services to over 3,000 individuals from newborns to senior citizens, as well as guidance and support for families.
