U-11 Wildcats Complete Season Division 1 Champions
Jacqui Brattan scores against Massapequa
The U-11 Wildcats completed their Fall season last Saturday at St. Paul’s downing the Syosset Red Devils in the season finale 3-1. The win gave the Wildcats their first Division 1 crown. The Cats realized a first place finish the weekend before against Massapequa at Soccer Park where they vanquished the eventual second place finisher by a 5-1 score.
Throughout the season the Wildcats combination of offensive power and defensive might kept opponents off balance. Week after week the team displayed text book passing and playmaking that often belied their young age. Loaded with athleticism and talent each and every player proved their skill by playing interchangeably on offense and defense, including goalkeeper throughout the season. Each week Coach Wieland challenged the kids to be heroes. The girls tallied an astounding 34 goals in nine games while surrendering 8 for a record of 8-0-1. The only blemish on the season came at Rockville Centre where the game ended in a draw. Congratulations to the Wildcats, Jacqui Brattan, Maggie Casey, Celia Concannon, Kelly Donovan, Kate Farrell, Claire Gallic, Catherine Galzarano, Taylor Gladd, Kelly George, Devon Heaney, Marlee Rich, Gabriella Rogers, Megan Seel, and Emma Wieland.
