The U-11 Wildcats completed their Fall season last Saturday at St. Paul’s downing the Syosset Red Devils in the season finale 3-1. The win gave the Wildcats their first Division 1 crown. The Cats realized a first place finish the weekend before against Massapequa at Soccer Park where they vanquished the eventual second place finisher by a 5-1 score. More ... The Men’s Association of Garden City and the Andy Foundation are presently accepting team applications and sponsorships for the 2009 Football Classic. The tournament will be held on Saturday, November 28th from 11 am - 4 pm at St. Paul’s field. Entry fee is $30 per adult and $15 per child and includes lunch and trophies. More ... The Garden City U-12 girl’s Shock finished their Fall season this past Saturday with a come from behind, last second tie versus the Levittown Breakers. This was another hard fought game between the number one offensive team (Levittown) and the number one defensive team (Garden City). More ... The GC Rovers took on the Oceanside Knights in their last game of the season this past weekend at St. Pauls. Looking to finish the season strong the Rovers started to get things going by doing the Rover Pre Game Chant. Once the whistle blew it was time to show the Knights, all the hard work that the Rovers put into this season. More ... The Boys U-10 Mavericks soccer team defeated the Port Washington Torpedoes with a Shut-out victory this past Saturday to end their Fall season with a successful 5-4 record for their efforts. More ... On Saturday 11/21/09, the St Anne’s CYO U-10 basketball team played against St Aidan’s at Chaminade for its second game of the fall 2009 season. >From what looked like a blow out loss for St Anne’s from the opening jump ball , turned out to be an exciting game for all who attended. More ... The Garden City Sting U12/13 travel team recently completed a successful Fall season of competitive baseball. The Sting is comprised of 7th and 8th grade middle school students many of which played at the 90’ baseball diamond level for the first time. The season highlight was a string of four victories within a five game stretch. More ...
