Mayor Robert Rothschild presented Garden City resident Alfred Urban with a citation on behalf of residents and the Board of Trustees at the Nov. 19th Board meeting. Urban, who is also a former Village Trustee, volunteer and World War II veteran, was honored at an awards ceremony at the French Consulate in New York City on Veteran’s Day. He was one of 10 veterans honored for heroism during World War II, and specifically, the liberation of France.
