DAR to Meet For Christmas Tea

The Colonel Aaron Ogden Chapter of the NSDAR will meet on December 8th at 1pm at the Garden City Historical Society for a festive Christmas Tea. Chapter members are asked to bring a plate of their favorite home-made cookies to share at the event.

Since this is the season of giving, those attending are encouraged to bring an article of children’s clothing (hats, gloves, sweatshirts sizes infant to 8) to benefit the children of the Onondaga Indian Reservation in Nedrow, New York. This is a longstanding Christmas tradition for the chapter.

In addition, Arlene Kister, Chapter Chairman for DAR Service to veterans, asks that members please bring to the meeting a small needed toiletry item for the comfort of our veteran patients. Toothpaste, floss, denture adhesive,large nail clippers, shampoo , body wash, phone cardsand postage stamps are among the requested items. These will be donated to the Veteran patients Hospital in Northport, where they will be very much appreciated.
