Article: Leo’s Melkonian softball team won the 2009 summer championship of the Garden City Open Softball League. Leo’s Melkonian lost the first game of the best of three series to Leo’s Lady Lovers team rallying for two straight wins to win the championship. This was Leo’s Melkonian’ third championship in recent years. Leo’s Melkonian has also won the Garden City Spring League four times in the past six years.
