Since this is the last week before Thanksgiving, we would like to wish our readers a happy and healthy holiday weekend.

Thanksgiving is probably our favorite holiday. It is quintessentially American, but in spite of that is our least commercialized holiday. Thanksgiving is about family and food, and despite the efforts of big box retailers to get us out to the Black Friday sales, those who don’t have to work on Friday get a nice long four day weekend at home.

Although it can be stressful (especially for the cooks of the family), there’s nothing quite like a table laden with a dozen good things to eat, followed by an afternoon (serotonin induced) nap, with the family all about.

Early Deadline

Due to the holiday, we will be going to press a day early next week. The deadline for classified advertising is Monday at noon, and all other materials (display advertising and news items) must be received by Tuesday. The papers will be delivered as usual on Friday.
