POLICE REPORT: MISCHIEF AND MAYHEM
BETWEEN NOVEMBER 11 and 12 , license plates were reported stolen from a car parked at Garden Street... BETWEEN NOVEMBER 10 and 11 , someone smashed pumpkins and broke a $200 window at a St. James St. North residence... PO WALSH ARRESTED a 42-year-old Woodside man for allegedly taking a $350 Spider coat at Lord and Taylor... On November 15, PO Oswald arrested a 48-year-old Westbury man for alleged DWI (.20%) at Clinton Rd. While the PO was conducting his investigation, a cab driver approached and said that the driver had struck his cab in Hempstead, leaving the scene. The motorist was then also charged with driving over double yellow lines, unreasonable speed, unsafe lane change, no seat belt (driver), and no passing zone... PO SANSONE ARRESTED a 21-year-old Westbury woman for allegedly stealing 2 Rock and Republic jeans, 1 BCBG jeans, and Rich and Skinny jeans, a total of $620, at Lord and Taylor... Between November 10 and 11, someone broke a $250 window on an Acura, parked at Magnolia Avenue, and then stole a Tom Tom One inside the car... UNKNOWN PERSONS took credit cards from a car parked at Community Park on November 15, and then used those same cards to purchase over $6,000 in merchandise at local businesses later on... GC detectives arrested an 18-year-old GC male on November 12 and a 19-year-old GC male on November 14, closing out graffiti incidents, which occurred in recent weeks at Seventh Street, commercial buildings, and train overpasses in Garden City as well as in nearby communities...

THERE WAS AN UNINTENTIONAL activation of a third floor alarm at the Historical Society House, Eleventh Street, on November 15... ON NOVEMBEr 16 , there was a defective elevator at a Franklin Avenue business... A BROKEN STEAM line activated an alarm in a hall outside a girls locker room at the high school on November 15... ON NOVEMBER 17, a power line came down at a Rockaway Avenue location...That’s all this week. G.T.
