Senior Citizen Information and Assistance Fair

On Wednesday, December 9, 2009, from 10am - 12 noon, the Nassau County Department of Senior Citizen Affairs, in cooperation with the Economic Opportunity Commission of Nassau County, Inc., will conduct a free Financial/Legal Information and Assistance Fair for senior citizens. This program will be held at the Economic Opportunity Commission, 134 Jackson Street, Hempstead.

Agency representatives will provide information on Housing, Reverse Mortgages, Foreclosure Prevention, Food Stamps, Medicaid, and the Home Energy Assistance Program, as well as the programs and services provided by the Nassau County Department of Senior Citizen Affairs and the Economic Opportunity Commission. In addition, representatives will be available to discuss legal issues and offer financial counseling services.

Older persons, interested family members, and caregivers are encouraged to attend and speak with program representatives, who will be available to answer questions, and assist with the completion of any necessary applications for benefits or entitlement programs.
