Girl Scouts Learn About Healthy Lifestyle
Who knew there was this much sugar in a bottle of soda!
Garden City Junior and Cadette Girl Scouts got together for a Healthy Eating & Lifestyle Workshop on October 22nd. They enjoyed a healthy snack and learned about making healthy food & activity choices. The plastic model food “portions” were a hit, as were the questions they got to ask about the lunches they had that day! They all received a healthy food card game too! A hale and hearty time was had by all! The discussion was presented by South Nassau Hospital in conjunction with the South Nassau Hospital Women’s Auxiliary. Thanks to Garden City Girl Scout Event Chair Dale O’Brien for organizing it and providing the nutritious refreshments. The girls will also receive patches for participating!
